Abstract

This chapter deals specifically with cosmetic products designed for use by people of African origin. Ontensive research and development of products in this field during the 1980's has resulted in the acceptance and recongnition of this class of product as a legitimate, and now established part of the general skin, and in particular hair care market. The development of such products is therefore a a relatively recent consideration. it must above all take into account fashion and the different characteristics of the skin and hair of this ethnic group.
