Abstract

Organocatalysis and biocatalysis have emerged as new and powerful tools especially in asymmetric synthesis. This survey is focused to have an overview of calixarene based organo- and biomimetic catalysis. Calix[n]arenes constitute a fascinating class of macrocycles that have found a broad spectrum of applications in supramolecular chemistry and molecular recognition. The scope of the present review is to provide an overview of applications of calixarene-based materials in asymmetric catalysis and biomimetic catalysis.
