FORMULASI MASKER GEL PEEL-OFF EKSTRAK BEKATUL PADI BERAS MERAH (Oryza nivara)

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ekstrak bekatul padi beras merah dapat dimanfaatkan dalam formulasi sediaan masker gel peel-off. Kandungan senyawa bioaktif yang terdapat dalam bekatul seperti flavonoid, fenolik, gamma oryzanol, dan antosianin merupakan senyawa yang dapat berfungsi sebagai antioksidan. Bekatul padi beras merah merupakan salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi efek buruk yang ditimbulkan oleh radikal bebas. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memformulasikan bekatul padi beras merah dalam bentuk sediaan masker gel peel-off. Ekstraksi bekatul padi beras merah dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan perarut etanol 96%. Formulasi masker gel peel-off ekstrak bekatul padi beras merah terdiri dari polivinil alkohol (PVA) 8%, Hidroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose HPMC 1%, madu 3%, propilenglikol 2%, nipagin 0,02%, air suling dan penambahan ekstrak bekatul padi beras merah dengan konsentrasi berbeda pada masing-masing formula (F) yaitu F1 (5%), F2 (10%) dan F3 (15%). Ketiga formula masker gel peel-off ekstrak bekatul padi beras merah berwarna kuning kecoklatan, merah kecoklatan hingga coklat kemerahan, beraroma madu, dan berbentuk cairan kental dengan rata-rata nilai viskositas 2974,9-15000 Cps, pH 5,4-5,1, daya sebar 5,4-5 cm, waktu mengering 30 menit dan elastisitas 8,8-6 cm. ABSTRACT An experimental study has been carried out regarding the preparation of peel-off gel mask formulations of brown rice rice bran extract. The bioactive compounds contained in bran such as flavonoids, phenolic, gamma oryzanol, and anthocyanin are compounds that can function as antioxidants. Brown rice rice bran is an alternative to overcome the bad effects caused by free radicals. This study was conducted to formulate brown rice rice bran in the form of a peel-off gel mask. Extraction of brown rice rice bran was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol. The formulation of peel-off gel mask for brown rice bran extract consists of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) 8%, HPMC 1%, 3% honey, propylenglycol 2%, nipagin 0.02%, distilled water and the addition of brown rice rice bran extract with concentration different for each formula, F1 (5%), F2 (10%) and F3 (15%). The three formula peel-off gel masks of brown rice rice bran extract were brownish-yellow, brownish red to reddish brown, honey-flavored, and in the form of thick liquid with an average viscosity value of 2974.9-15000 Cps, pH 5.4-5.1 , the spread power is 5.4-5 cm, the drying time is 30 minutes and the elasticity is 8.8-6 cm.
