Abstract

Expectations of veterinary students during clinical rotations should be developed with the goal of bettering the veterinary profession as a whole. This article outlines five areas of expectations for the veterinary professional: treating colleagues with respect, providing excellent care for patients and clients, developing and maintaining skill sets to support intellectual curiosity and continued professional development, and improving upon and using self-care and life-balance skills. © 2008 AAVMC.
