Abstract

The study to be searched to what extend the indigenous culture with the aspects of universal culture are included in translated children books to be prepared aimed at primary school students is prepared in the model of the survey as the product of the study to have descriptive characteristics. Firstly, translated children books to be prepared aiming at primary school students have been part of the study; and then, through the method of criterion modeling, by considering the criteria stated in the studies by the experts of children’s literature and indicated to be required in the children books, five books chosen from among the translated children books which are kind of story prepared by different publishers have been part of the study. Through the technique of document analysis, in question, the cultural aspects. In this way, it has been tried to determine the level of reflecting the indigenous which translated children books belong and their transformation forms are analyzed. When the analysis has been completed the coded cultural aspects have been arrayed culture. Also, It has been aimed to prove whether the books effecting the transitional process from the childhood to adulthood and supporting the educational activities in the school or the one’s social life are convention to interest, needs and adequate, or not.
