Abstract

In diesel engine, biodiesel were started to use as alternate for fossil fuel. In this article, the study carried out on CI engine powered by nano-emulsion of lemon peel oil biodiesel. The lemon oil was extracted from the waste lemon peel through solvent extraction into methyl ester. Nano fluid was prepared in different proportion by adding 50 and 100 ppm of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) as a mixture in lemon peel oil biodiesel in nano-emulsion process. The W/O nano-emulsion is the type of process used. The additives used in the biodiesel to reduce the engine emission like NOx, CO, HC, etc. The span 80 surfactant is used in W/O nano-emulsion because its HLB value is 4.2, which is obtained. The nano particles are used in the form of nano fluids. The biodiesel blends were tested in the single cylinder diesel engine to study the performance of the engine and emissions like HC, CO, NOx.
