Abstract

Alcoholic hepatitis (AH) is an acute inflammatory liver disease with poor prognosis. Infections in AH are difficult to detect and contribute to short-term mortality. Intrahepatic choles-tasis and elevated alkaline phosphatase levels are also associated with worse outcomes. This report describes an uncommon presentation of severe AH.
