Abstract

Describes the methods that define epidemiology as they have been applied to the Disruptive Behavior Disorders (DBD) and explains the role played by population-based studies in identifying risk and protective factors. A review and annotated bibliography of existing epidemiologic studies of DBD are provided. Major findings to date on prevalence, comorbidity, and selected risk and protective factors are summarized. Areas in which information is sparse are highlighted to suggest directions for future research. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)
