Abstract

Considering the self-restriction of computer system, the usability of data warehouse, the executing efficiency of on-line analytical processing and data mining and the users special demands in future, it is necessary to create a historical available data backup in data warehouse in which there is a mass of data has been saved. This is the first of the companion papers in which introduces the necessity and organizing strategies for constructing historical data backups after analyzing the usual and formal approaches of data backup in data warehouse. The process and important techniques of creating historical data backup are expatiated in detail, then the data backup strategies based on rough time set are advanced.
