The Research on the Characteristics of Furniture Hardware Design Through 3D Printing

Abstract

With the improvement of living standards and self-conscious, design begins to transform from simplification to diversification including furniture hardware. From the literature review, we had found the type and specifications of today’s hardware components are mostly more fixed and limited. With its manufacturing advantage of small amount of customization and diversification, 3D printing has become a perfect solution for this need of change. Therefore, this study hopes to solve the bottleneck caused by mass production in the hardware process through 3D printing technology, and to provide diverse and form-free hardware components.
