Abstract

The problems of plateau uplift are discussed, with particular reference to this massif in the foreland of the Alpine collision and its relation to the Rhine graben of West Germany. The interaction between uplift, rifting and volcanism, and the asymmetries of plateau uplift W and E of the Rhine are also examined. (Following abstracts)-R.A.H.
