Abstract

In this chapter, we discuss the concept of an open building as it is described in many different electronic databases. The term open building refers to a building which can be used flexibly according to a user’s needs, without demolition. The use of open buildings is possibly one of the most effective means of creating a sustainable built environment. We also study the viewpoints of academic researchers, and so look at to previous research papers on the concept of open buildings.
