Abstract

This paper aims to discover the differences and affecting factors of China's regional knowledge productivity efficiency. Based on literature review, a full-scale empirical study on regional knowledge productivity efficiency is made applying stochastic frontier function model based on the panel data of eight regions in 1994-2008. The result shows regional knowledge productivity efficiency is about 0.6 and is distributed uniformly spatially. To promote regional knowledge productivity efficiency, we need to activate regional knowledge stock, promote economic development level and advance industry openness properly. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
