Abstract

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) satellites have provided over 8 years of observations from which estimates of the earth's total longwave emittance can be derived. Changes in satellite instrumentation, orbit, and algorithms used in obtaining these estimates are briefly summarized.-from Authors
