Abstract

Existing user-centric identity management systems were often implemented as metasystems based on Information Card. Users collect information cards issued by various Identity Providers. However, there are no consistent regulations about the management of information card files from different Identity Providers. So the management of information cards is messy. In case of card loss, users have to request a new one. When a user is on business, he must take all his information cards with himself. All these mean that users must bring their information cards along with themselves all the time. We argue that there should be a trusted place to store and manage information cards. In this paper, we propose an architecture whose Identity Selector can connect a trusted place to manage information cards. The architecture can improve the reliability and convenience of Information Card. It can be proved by cases that users can get back their lost information cards from the trusted place which is a dashboard for information cards. Furthermore, users can use their information cards at any supported place without copying them from one to another. © Springer-Verlag 2012.
