New paradigm of biosensor electrode material, carbon-based composite materials (carbon nanotube (CNT), graphite, and graphene), have received great attentions because of high electronic conductivity and suitable mechanical properties. Among them, graphene modified electrodes show remarkable performance in biosensor applications with its high surface area, electrical and chemical properties. However, the graphene lose their intrinsic electrical and chemical properties during fabrication process by aggregation and oxidation. Here we suggest graphene and Nafion polymer composite not only enhancing processability but also maintaining properties. The easily fabricated glucose biosensor shows good performances with fast electron transfer rate, high selectivity, and low concentration range of detection with linear response. © 2013 IFMBE.
