Abstract

Uberization is understood as a new type of labor control. Associated with a process of informalization, it leads to the constitution of a just-in-time worker. Based on investigation of app delivery workers we analyze: the participation of young and black workers; algorithmic management and the centralized control of typical global South ways of life. Working conditions and political resistance during the Covid-19 pandemic are also discussed.
