Abstract

Bioceramic materials have been intensively investigated last ten years for use in the human body. Although these materials exhibit very good chemical properties for biomedical use they are often to britlle and therefore characterization of their mechanical properties is important for the appropriate applications. According to present knowledge it is expected that satisfactory results could be expected using a combination of inert and bioactive ceramics.
