Abstract

System dynamics and econometrics are proposed for a quantitative analysis of regional economy combined with qualitative analysis. The system dynamic model captures causal relationships of regional economic system, while econometrics is used to estimate equation parameters of system dynamics model. A system dynamics model for the development of regional economy is built by combination of system dynamics and econometrics. Finally, a case study of Shenzhen city gives some policy suggestions according to policy simulation results. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
