Abstract

EHR has been introduced into China for years. Many cities are leaping into adopting EHR while some others are lagging behind in the use of it or in efficiently use of it, not to mention backward rural areas. In order to find out the reasons, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis is utilized in this paper. As SWOT analysis possesses deficiencies in the measurement and evaluation steps, the fuzzy AHP is utilized. The results were presented in an illustrative way by utilizing the quantitative information achieved by the hybrid method. The results indicated that EHR could be adopted and the most important factors in the EHR are Growing Demand for Medical and Health, The growth of health care spending, Personalized Service and Quality of Care. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
