Abstract

The present work is devoted to the conception of a representative numeric model of an experimental test rig, which consists of a flexible rotor supported by two Active Magnetic Bearings. Based on this model, the analysis and synthesis of new control strategies, as well as other relevant studies can be properly performed. For this purpose, the study was divided in two parts. The first is dedicated to the elaboration of individual numerical models in order to represent the dynamic behavior of each one of the sub systems that compose the entire system, as based on their design characteristics. Thereafter, the models of the sub systems are assembled together so that a representative model of the entire system is obtained. The following step is the model correlation with experimental results for validation purposes, which will be presented in a further contribution.
