Key elements of this management activity include understanding technology life cycles, composing and evaluating a technology portfolio, encouraging and managing innovation, and knowledge of best practices for technology task management. A technology manager needs to be aware of these essentials within the context of the organizational setting to provide for optimal implementation and results.
