Abstract

Cosmetic otoplasty is a frequently performed procedure. For the prominent ear, there are many different approaches to correct the various problems, and this may lead to a variety of complications. There are other cosmetic problems that may be treated including scars, especially keloid scars, traumatic injuries, and resection of tumors. Complications can arise from cosmetic otoplasty, most of which are well known. The surgeon performing otoplasty should be aware of the possible complications, their cause, and their treatment. The author discusses the various possible complications.
