Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of academic supervision by the Principal of Early Childhood Education in Blora Regency. The subjects of the study were School Principals who had attended School Principal Strengthening Education and Training, totaling 81 headmasters. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews analyzed with quantitative descriptive analysis techniques through the calculation of percentages and categorization. Qualitative data obtained by interview, processed using qualitative data analysis techniques with steps: condensation of data, display data, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results showed that the overall academic supervision by the Principal was good. In the aspect of supervision planning, the category is very good, the implementation of supervision is in the good category and the follow-up is in the good and not good category. The Principal has made the supervision plan even though it is not yet comprehensive. In the aspect of supervision implementation, the Principal has used individual supervision techniques and most often uses classroom observation. The principal has not yet used varied supervision techniques. Supervision is carried out through three stages, namely pre-observation, observation, and post-observation. Follow-up supervision is carried out by making a report on the results of supervision, but has not used it as a basis for preparing the next supervision program. Keywords:
