Abstract

Minimally invasive ocular diagnostic devices allow the continuous monitoring of biomarkers in tear fluid. On page 792 A. K. Yetisen and team provide a critical Review of contact lens sensors in the diagnosis of diabetes and glaucoma. The article includes sensor designs, micro/nanofabrication, powering, readout devices, and mass manufacturing of contact lenses. The Review also provides an analysis of the market, a case study, and FDA regulatory requirements.
