Abstract

Tissue Engineering (or regenerative medicine) is a rapidly developing field of research pursued by very different branches of medicine. The most results are published by orthopedists [28] and cardiologists, but meanwhile, there is nearly no special subject that does not investigate in this area. Furthermore, there is a multitude of methods and techniques that are involved in tissue engineering. Therefore, it is difficult to define or to describe the scope of tissue engineering in one sentence. © 2009 Springer Berlin Heidelberg.
