Development of smart and dynamic floral clothing accessories

Abstract

We present the design of smart and dynamic floral clothing accessories. The statement “smart” represents the floral clothing accessory that is able to sense the signals coming from the surrounding and makes responds, or is executed with the preset program. Besides, it could be remote control by using smart phone or computer. “Dynamic” means that the floral clothing accessory is able to show dynamic visual effects such as a flower blooming, branches swaying, light tracking just like a sunflower, or a butterfly wings waving. The main floral components of the product are a variety of flowers, leaves, branches and butterflies combined together. The products are operated by SMA actuating mechanisms, Arduino controllers, and various sensors. The prototype of the products have been developed and can be realized in clothing application in the future, which will bring new features for daily clothing to add more highlights and fashion.
