Abstract

There are usually many theories about a how a crime occurred. This chapter outlines ways of eliminating the false theories using logic and critical thinking in interpreting the physical evidence. The reconstructionist is cautioned to watch for staged crime scenes and how evidence dynamics can impact the interpretation of the evidence. A section on ethics is a reminder of how various biases can be interjected into interpretation.
