Abstract

It is important to focus on the 'apparent' part of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC). Calculation of ADC is the crudest possible estimate of water mobility in tissue. The ADC method is fraught with problems because it is based on a model that is inappropriate for biological tissue.
