Abstract

Electrostatic phenomena are quite varied and occur widely in nature. The development of an electrostatic charge from mechanical action on a solid body is termed a triboelectric effect. Such effects have not yet been well studied, though the question of various forms of electrification of different solid bodies has been the subject of considerable work [81–97]. During friction or contact between bodies, all materials become electrified, dielectrics, semiconductors, and metals. The degree of electrification differs.
