Abstract

In order to understand the level and development trend of Chengdu Urban Agglomeration comprehensive carrying capacity, 24 representative indicators about resources, environment, economy and society of urban agglomeration are selected from the pressure and support force. Based on entropy-weight TOPSIS model, both of the carrying capacity of subsystems and Chengdu Urban Agglomerations comprehensive carrying capacity in 2013 were evaluated. A dynamic evaluation is then carried out for the carrying capacity of each subsystem and comprehensive carrying capacity in Chengdu Urban Agglomeration from 2009 to 2013. Finally, Moran ’I index is used to evaluate the spatial auto-correlation analysis of comprehensive carrying capacity. The results show that the resource dependence is high and the carrying capacity of social subsystem is not enough, which restricts the development of comprehensive carrying capacity in Chengdu Urban Agglomeration. Chengdu Urban Agglomeration has obvious spatial difference. Chengdu city, the central city of Chengdu Urban Agglomeration, has gradually become a city group growth pole, but it is weakly to promote the comprehensive carrying capacity of the surrounding cities. Finally, according to the conclusion of the analysis, the countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to enhance the comprehensive carrying capacity in Chengdu Urban Agglomeration.
