Abstract

Dif ferential mobility analysis enables particle size distribution measurements of submicron aerosols with resolution well beyond that attainable in other size regimes of aerosols or other particulate media. The pages that follow present a tutorial introduction to differential mobility analysis, describing the underlying physics, the dif ferential mobility classifiers and associated detectors, data analysis, data presentation, and some of the challenges in using this powerful measurement method.
