Based on the interest that exists in education for the self-efficacy issue, the aim of this paper is to review the research conducted in Spanish and Portuguese languages on the feeling of teaching self-efficacy of future teachers, from 2015 to the present, with the goal of contributing to the improvement of teacher training from the Latin American collaboration. Attending to the principles of the PRISMA methodology, the most comprehensive databases in this field (Biblat, Dialnet plus, RedALyC, Scielo) were reviewed. Finally, 20 articles were selected to carry out secondary research, which synthesizes the primary research conducted so far. From the analysis of documents, the current research panorama was described, and the results were summarized. They indicated that the practical training the future teacher receives does influence his/her feeling of self-efficacy as a professional, and depends on other variables such as previous experiences, or his/her performance. It is highlighted the need for more effective research with conceptual improvements, referred to the definition of the construct; methodological, focused on the design; and of approach, considering the challenges that arise from the current context of new normality.
