In the present investigation, the in vivo test of C. spinosa extract was carried out as a controller of F. columnare in tilapia individuals. For this, the extract of dried fruits of C. spinosa was obtained and was mixed with the culture water for fish at the final concentration of 0.4 mg/ml in aquariums of 280 I. In the first stage, artificially infected tilapia with F. columnare appeared with the disease symptoms. In the second stage, the diseased fish were treated with the extract dissolved in the water and were kept until their recovery. In the group of sick individuals who did not receive C. spinosa, the percentage of survival was 53,33. Survival percentages of healthy fish with and without C. spinosa extract did not show significant differences between them. It showed antibacterial activity in vivo of C spinosa. These results indicate that it could be used as an alternative effective for the treatment of infections bacteria for other species of bacteria and other aquaculture species, at low cost and friendly to the environment.
