Abstract

The management of patients following surgery for pituitary, adrenal or ectopic Cushing's syndrome is challenging, as adequate glucocorticoid replacement post-operatively is crucial to avoid hypoad-renalism. Following discharge from hospital, patients not only need to be seen regularly to assess for recurrence of Cushing's syndrome but also to identify patients with recovery of the Hpa axis. This chapter aims to give an overview of current opinions on how to assess Cushing's patients following surgery and to offer guidelines on their treatment.
