Abstract

Chronic low-grade inflammation is suggested to play a key role in the age-related decline in muscle mass, strength and physical performance also known as sarcopenia. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential associations between systemic markers of low-grade inflammation (CRP, IL-6 and TNF-α) and muscle mass, muscle strength, and physical performance in a geriatric out-patient population.
