Abstract

The article presents the challenges of living with giant cell arteritis (GCA) and/or polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) based on the point of view of the patient. The qualitative data were obtained from surveys and online patient forum conducted by British charity PMRGCAuk in 2012. It also cites the survey conducted through surveymonkey.com in November-December 2013 which listed the top five priorities of patients, including coming off steroids, managing chronic pain, and being on steroids.
