Abstract

In this paper, I will outline a diagram-based proposal for teaching propositional logic, as well as the reasons that led me to it. The paper is divided into three sections. In the first section I introduce, and try to justify, the hypothesis that processes like thinking, reasoning or speaking are intimately connected with the process of constructing what we see. The second section presents a criticism of the didactic ideas underlying the trend of modern mathematics in countries like France and the U.S.A. The final section is devoted to the schematic presentation of the specific diagram-based approach. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
