Abstract

The bilateral filter is studied in this paper. We implemented bilateral filtering for image and video reconstruction. The bilateral filter consists of domain filter and range filter, and we assign different weights to each filter. The performance of bilateral filter depends on their parameters, and we added another parameter α. To obtain ideal performance with least MSE, parameters should be trained and well assigned. The presented approach reconstructed image and video with significantly reduced artifacts and improved details. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
