Abstract

Kant’s major philosophical work is the Critique of Pure Reason, published in 1781, with a second, revised edition in 1787. The book is over four hundred thousand words. Kant himself remarks that it is “the product of nearly twelve years of reflection, I completed it hastily, in perhaps four or five months, with the greatest attentiveness to its content but less care about its style and ease of comprehension.”
