Abstract

This paper deals with the synthesis and basic characteristics of segmented copolymers formed from wholly aromatic poly(arylene ether sulfones) and poly arylene terephthalate units. The poly(arylene ether sulfones) of choice were synthesized from mixtures of the bisphenols-hydroquinone and biphenol. Mixtures of the two bisphenols were used in a number of experiments, and were found to be amorphous and thus easier to solubilize in common solvents.
