Abstract

An expression is suggested to appropriately estimate the minimum fluidization velocity of either a perfectly mixed or a completely segregated multicomponent system. Based on experimental data from the literature and our own work it is found that agreement between predictions and experimental results is reasonably good in the context of the inherent limitation of the theory and the accuracy of the data. © 1994, The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan.
