Abstract

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to clarify the characteristics of self-efficacy and self-regulated learning in physical therapists. [Participants and Methods] The subjects were 52 physical therapists with at least 6 years of experience. Questionnaire surveys were conducted using items of the Japanese version of the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) Motivation Scale and the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES). For the analysis, the respondents were divided into two groups according to their GSES level, and a test for the difference in MSLQ was performed. [Results] The MSLQ items that differed between the two groups were 10 out of 31 items, and test anxiety was strong only in the group with low self-efficacy. [Conclusion] Reducing test anxiety may be one way of promoting self-regulated learning.
