Abstract

Valuable 4- and 5-membered benzocarbocycles were synthesized via selective palladium-catalyzed cascade reactions which combined C(sp3)-H activation, Heck cyclization, Heck arylation or olefin hydrogenation. In all cases, all mechanistically independent steps were catalyzed by a single multi-functional catalyst. © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA,.
