Abstract

Calculating the mass center of alpha rhythm is an important way to explore the brain function. In this work, instead of using the raw data or common alpha band (8-13 Hz) for the calculation of the mass center of the traveling alpha waves, the individual alpha center frequency was identified firstly, then a 5 Hz band was utilized to calculate the mass center (MC), the statistic difference of some properties such as the trajectory, the velocity, and the fractal dimension are evaluated after they are calculated from the raw data and the data preprocessed with the personally identified filter, the results show that the result with filter is more regular and explainable.
