Abstract

Aesthetic surgery is an elective surgery in order to beautify the patient. Patients do not expect to have complications, but the possible risks and complications have to be explained to the patient so that he/she can make a knowledgeable decision concerning whether or not to have the surgery. Complications may occur without any deviation from the standard of care, and the surgeon has to be aware as to what are the possible risks and complications, their prevention, and their treatment for every procedure he/she may plan to do. This will allow early diagnosis and timely treatment of a complication.
