Abstract

Working with CNC routers and robots is widely used in architecture and fabrication. Our paper describes ways to use these tools more intuitively yet accurately and without a profound knowledge. We have developed a workshop format, in which even inexperienced participants are able to quickly start working with these tools by shaping the non-rigid material sand. Various production methods and tools are incorporated such as "manual", "gestural", "CNC" and "robotic" to create various 3D forms which are captured by methods like 3D scanning, vacuum forming or glueing.
