The autonomous driving technology is a vehicle technology which drives automatically to the target destination without human intervention. The traditional autonomous driving technology has been developed using vehicle which has equipped with expensive devices. To control the vehicle movement precisely, the GPS/RTK positioning devices have been used and to recognize the spatial obstacles, the laser scanner and vision sensors have been used. Recently, new technologies have been developed to lower the cost to commercialize the autonomous driving. In this paper, the core technology which is positioning of the unmanned vehicle are developed using infra-based sensors and we have estimated the accuracy of recognized location of controlled vehicle by experimenting in real test-bed area. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.
