Abstract

Application of hydroxyapatite modified by sodium nitrate as heterogeneous catalysts for the Michael type addition reaction of aliphatic and aromatic amines to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds is presented. Modifying hydroxyapatite by sodium nitrate significantly enhances the rate and yield of the reaction. This catalyst is used as the catalyst for a facile synthesis of β-amino acid under heterogeneous conditions. © ARKAT.
