Abstract

This chapter introduces and analyses the human meta-organism. It shows how the introduction of communication through electric signals by Homo sapiens pushed ahead the cognitive abilities of our species: not the ones of the individual, but the ones of human society as a whole, which, with the introduction of Internet, is starting to look more and more like a complex organism itself.
